The Ballon d’Alsace is the highest peak in the Southern Vosges and is located in the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park. Discover our magnificent region between the Territoire de Belfort and the Haut-Rhin. There are many hiking trails available, suitable for all ages and skill levels; check out the local farm inns, which are plentiful in the area. The Ballon des Vosges Regional Nature Park has also launched a “one farm, one hike” initiative to combine culinary delights with the joy of hiking. Things to Do at Ballon d’Alsace: A Hiker’s and Cyclist’s Paradise
The Ballon d’Alsace and the surroundings of our nature campground in Alsace are a true paradise for hikers. Crossed by the GR5 and GR 59, a starting point for the GR7, a stage and legendary route for hikers, the Ballon offers a playground for play unique where everyone, at their own pace, will combine discovery and sports in some landscapes of breathtaking beauty.
The Ballon d’Alsace is a “cyclist’s paradise.” The trails are accessible to beginners and champions alike. A landmark of the Tour de France, the Ballon d’Alsace was the first mountain pass crossed by cyclists in the Tour de France, in 1905.

The climb of the Ballon d’Alsace was designated a “Historic Route of the Tour de France” in 2019.

Alsace and the Ballon d’Alsace are not only popular with hikers and cyclists; in fact, in the summer you can go paragliding, summer tobogganing, and enjoy other activities there. In winter, the Ballon d’Alsace ski area is open to everyone for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, ski touring, sledding, and many other activities.

In the Vosges and in the area around the Ballon d’Alsace, you’ll find many farm-inns; in particular, head to the Doller Valley to discover Alsatian specialties such as Roïgabrageldi, the very popular Alsatian sauerkraut, Munster cheese, and the famous blueberry tart. - Near your campground, set out on a unique and rather unusual adventure with the Sud Alsace rail bike—a 2-hour ride along an old railway track at the foothills of the Vosges. Perfect for families, couples, or a day out with friends, the rail bike offers a breath of fresh air surrounded by nature—and best of all, it’s just about 20 minutes from Flower Camping du Lac de la Seigneurie. - Then head to the Parc du Petit Prince, which celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2021, to visit the world’s first aerial adventure park. This park, perfect for children ages 8 to 12, is located in Ungersheim, just 30 minutes from the campground. Meet the Little Prince and learn his story, meet the famous Rose, draw sheep, tame the animals, and set off on an adventure to save the endangered planet B612! - Right next to the Little Prince Park is the Ecomusée d’Alsace, France’s largest open-air museum, a reconstruction of a 20th-century Alsatian village in Ungersheim, about 30 minutes from your campground. Amid typical Alsatian half-timbered buildings, animals, and about twenty daily activities, set against nearly 100 hectares of nature, discover how the people of Alsace lived back then—from traditional crafts and local attire to Alsatian specialties in a bakery, a Winstub, or a traditional restaurant.


- In Mulhouse, discover the famous Schlumpf Collection on display at the Automobile Museum, which has been open since 1982. This museum houses more than 500 classic cars, some of which belonged to the renowned Ettore Bugatti, founder of the automobile brand, which is among the fastest in the world.

- Continue your journey through Mulhouse along the famous Wine Route, from Thann to Marlenheim, with a must-see stop in the famous city of Colmar, the wine capital of Alsace.
